National No Phone Day

Do you feel upset about the high costs and low service levels of South Africa's communications monopoly, Telkom? If you do, you appear to be in a minority. I had set a goal of collecting 2000 signatures to justify setting up a site dedicated to National No Phone day, with the idea of organising a one-day, national telecommunications boycott. In the three months since starting the campaign I have managed to collect 40 signatures. Perhaps you are happy with Telkom's service and rates. Perhaps you think that the Second Network Operator will make a difference. Perhaps you don't think it is possible to make a difference at all. Sadly, therefore, the campaign dies here. I would urge all of those who supported me to throw their weight behind AntiTrust.co.za who, being more energetic than I am, will be keeping the anti-Telkom flag flying for the immediate future.
